Jason Stanton is a composer, songwriter, and performer. Growing up in Kansas City, Jason began his music studies at an early age and began writing music at the age of 9. He has written and performed music for several independent films and for ensembles of all sizes. His styles tend toward rock and postminimalism, both acoustic and electronic. Though he has studied on a wide range of instruments, his main performance instruments are guitar, viola, piano, and voice.
Jason received a Bachelor of Music degree in Composition from the University of Missouri, Columbia, after which he moved to Long Beach, California to form the band Presuming Ed. After five years performing throughout Southern California, Jason returned to school to complete a Master of Music at California State University, Long Beach, focusing his studies on film-scoring. He currently lives in Long Beach.
